Quality is our strength. At
Dayals
we
have worked hard for generations in various businesses and timber is one
of them. We have worked in Fiji for more than 60 years....."consisting
of a highly innovative and experienced team of entrepreneurs".
We are the largest
hardwood sawmill and exporter in the Western Division of the island of
Viti Levu, Fiji. The sawmill operation is run by highly skilled and
experienced Managers. Our timber is carefully processed and we boast
having the highest recovery with the best yield of grades in the
industry. Our setup is designed to produce visually inspected production,
meaning we see what we cut into sawn timber. Our mill is not designed to
produce only quantity but quality.
We use a solar
assisted kiln drier for drying sawn timber down to 10% - 12% moisture
content. The drying technology uses the 'green house principle' and is
environmentally friendly. This is because we care for our environment. We
utilize a CCA pressure treatment plant for H2, H3, H4 retentions in
timber. In addition to CCA we treat timber using Boron to maintain wood colour.
Our in house quality
control personnel are trained to take care of our environmental
responsibility. As such, our technical staffs are trained by qualified
personnel involved in ISO 9002 and ISO 14000 series implementation and
audit. Jay Dayal, one of our Directors, is a qualified Auditor and
Graduate from Standards Australia and possesses a degree in Quality
Business Management, involving mainly quality system and audit. Jay
Dayal has served as the National Secretary for Fiji Sawmillers
Association from 2000 to 2005. He has also been actively involved as
Employer's representative in the Timber & Logging Wages Council.
When you purchase our
product, you probably do not realize that behind it's quality there are
many quality driven brains. |
